In this video Liz discusses how green roofs provide sources of food for wildlife and along with deadwood habitats or solitary bee hives and demonstrates how they can lengthen the time insects remain on your green roof.

Green roofs really increase biodiversity when installed benefiting a range of invertebrate species including bees, ladybirds and butterflies with flowering sedum providing forage for pollinators.
Green roofs can also provide important foraging habitat for birds including  Goldfinches, Starlings and Wagtails.
